AMD’s third generation of Ryzen CPUs are here, including the company’s first mainstream CPU to feature 12 cores, the Ryzen 9 3900X. The company is announcing five new processors as part of the lineup, all with a release date of July 7th. Their prices range from $199 to $499, and all of them are based on the company’s new 7nm Zen 2 architecture with support for the new PCIe 4.0 interface, which offers double the bandwidth of PCIe 3.0.
AMD Launches 7th-Gen 'Bristol Ridge' CPUs and New Socket AM4 Platform
Shortly after unveiling its highly anticipated new Zen architecture, AMD has announced that HP and Lenovo have begun shipping PCs with its new 7th-generation A-series processors, codenamed 'Bristol Ridge'. The refresh also introduces AMD's new unified AM4 platform which will serve for this generation as well as upcoming consumer Zen CPUs. The launches will give a struggling AMD some presence in the market to compete with devices based on Intel's new Kaby Lake processors which will be available in full force this holiday shopping season.
Daydream : Google’s Android-powered VR
Following months of speculation, Google is diving deeper into virtual reality. Today at its I/O keynote, the company announced Daydream, a VR platform built on top of Android N. Google says that Daydream-ready phones, as well as VR viewers and motion controllers, will be available this fall.

At I/O this year, Google displayed its vision for a more ubiquitous and conversational way of interacting with technology. Its Assistant is chattier, answering natural language queries with a more human voice, and it’s found its way into several new Google products: the messenger Allo and the Echo-like speaker Home. Both are areas where other companies have a lead, but Google’s strength in AI gave these services some nice twists, doing things like automatically generating surprisingly specific reactions to photos.
